Karla Brannen Receives MECPA 2020 Accolades & Accentuating Resilience Leadership Award: “The Startup Standout”

Falmouth, Maine (November 18, 2020) – Brannen CPA Services PLLC is pleased to announce that Principal & Owner Karla Brannen, CPA, was among those honored by the Maine Society of Certified Public Accountants (MECPA) with a 2020 Accolades & Accentuating Resilience leadership award. Brannen was named The Startup Standout, an honor awarded for her above-and-beyond work in an entrepreneurial venture.
The MECPA’s award program recognizes leadership and hard work across the accounting profession and throughout the year’s uncertainty. The MECPA also named a winner in various other categories, including The Rising Star, The Wise Sage, The Engaging Educator, The Forward Thinker, The Soaring Flyer, The Municipal Superhero, and The Giver. Nominations were considered by a panel of judges, and the honorees were named at the MECPA’s virtual event on November 18, 2020.

Karla Brannen has over 14 years of experience in public accounting. She is a discerning provider of tax planning and compliance services, including services bearing multi-state intricacies. Karla’s panoramic approach to bookkeeping and CFO services enables her to address multi-faceted and unique client needs. She works extensively with individuals, their trusts and estates, and small businesses, and she provides tax filing services for employee benefit plans.
Brannen holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Thomas College. She founded Brannen CPA Services PLLC in 2020. Karla is the Past President of the MECPA and is an Elected Representative for the State of Maine for the AICPA Governing Council. In recognition of her industry dedication and community leadership, Brannen also received the MECPA’s Women to Watch Award in 2018.
